"I am become Death, destroyer of worlds"

I was watching TV last night and one of the characters of the show used a quote that I have heard before and it is very powerful when you think of the context.  The quote was spoken by Robert Oppenheimer.  If you know a little history, you may have heard of him.  He was one of the principal scientists and the director of the Manhattan Project.  This was a program run by the United States (with support from Great Britain and Canada) during World War II to develop nuclear weapons.  The quote I am referring to is "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds", which was a line from the Hindu scripture, Bhagavad-Gita.  The power of the atom was nearly limitless, but so was the ability for complete destruction.  Oppenheimer knew the consequences of this discovery all too much.

Where am I going with this?  When you think about it, when you manufacture goods in Eve, you create death.  You provide the ships, ammo and material to wage war.  If Oppenheimer could have seen how destructive ships of war could be, he would be beside himself.  There is a correlation and I'm getting to that.  Some of the ships in Eve use fission reactors.  That technology was based directly off the work of people like Einstein and Oppenheimer.  They will always have a legacy.  The duality of that legacy is both peaceful and destructive.  Beneficial and full of malice.

Regardless, it makes you think: While you fly with a nuclear bomb powering your ship, remember to always fly safe-ish.
